HTC brought EVO 3D Phone at CTIA 2011

HTC Evo 3DHTC EVO 3D is a 3D Gingerbread phone that was announced this year at CTIA and is powered by a powerful 1.2 GHz Qualcomm 8660 dual core processor plus a massive 4.3-inch qHD display. This phone was already expected and most of the specs were revealed before this official announcement. With its high processing power and huge display it packs a good number of features and makes it become a complete phone as well as a good competitor to the small screen tablets.

The first feature of this phone is the 3D feature that will you to experience the magic of 3D without any glasses. It’s not only 3D in displaying contents, but is also able of capturing 3D videos with dual 5 megapixel cameras.

In the press release HTC has mentioned even more options to use 3D (except watching movies or playing games) like 3D virtual tours of rooms, watching sports like being in the field or 3D mapping of terrain which will be helpful for the hikers and tourists. The video capture in 3D mode is HD with 720p and 1080p in 2D mode and the content can be instantly posted in high quality on YouTube or Facebook or even stream it live with Qik.

The HTC EVO 3D will come preloaded with Blockbuster On Demand which will give you access to a great collection of movies that include 3D movies also and the good thing is that the movies are optimized for the 4.3-inch display of the phone. This must be the best use of 3D in mobile industry till now and HTC is expecting a totally new era of 3D technology with the release of this device. The Blockbuster on Demand can also give you the option of renting movies digitally, but they will have be available for 1 month after download and 24 hours of viewing period after the first playing of the movie.

HTC EVO 3D Landscape

Other than these special features, the EVO 3D will have the ability to add far more features to this phone by accessing the Android Market which consists above 150,000 apps and games till now. The phone is fully boosted with 1 GB RAM and 4 GB internal storage. And of course you will be able to expand the memory with microSD card up to 32 GB. All of the Google services are smoothly integrated and you will have a great advantage if you depend a lot on Google services. Actually it’s hard to find a person on the web that is not dependeding on some of the Google services in any way.

There is a third camera at the front of this phone for video chatting. As a good use of 4G network the phone features a better hotspot capability which supports connecting up to 8 devices to the Internet as a wireless router. The 1730mAh battery should be able to give a satisfactory battery life as the phone should be a power hungry one with the big display and powerful processor.

HTC EVO 3D phone is scheduled to be launched this summer, but pricing details are not out yet.

Gotta say, got myself the desire on contract as opposed to the iphone and I am loving it.

I went for the normal desire rather than the HD as I just don’t like the size of the HD.
