HTC announced at MWC during their press conference the release of three new smartphones, each one having special features, but all three have the same operating system, Android. HTC Desire S, Wildfire S and Incredible S are the smartphones that they expect to be very popular as their previous versions ruled the market and faced too few complains to mention and they are likely to keep their perfection in the coming phones too.
Along Android OS, another common thing found between all these phones is the use of HTC Sense UI, which we all know is the HTC customization layer that fits perfectly the Android. HTC are going to ship Wildfire S and Desire S phones with the 2.3 version of Android which is also named as Gingerbread and Incredible S will come to the market loaded with Android 2.2 Froyo but will support an upgrade to 2.3 version ‘in the near future’.
Wildfire S is the follower of the very popular HTC Wildfire and is expected to be a powerful smartphone with an affordable price. It does not impress with some kind of cutting edge technology or premium features and rather than this it comes with a decent smartphone configuration and a smaller 3.2-inch TFT display. This low range Android smartphone features a 600MHz Qualcomm processor and the battery is a 1230mAh one. On the back, the camera have 5 megapixels and supports autofocus and also can playback various video formats as they are supported through the big number of codecs. HTC Wildfire S is also one of the smallest phones that HTC made.
HTC Desire S will come to the market and wants to follow the successful success of the awarded winner HTC Desire, a smartphone which amazed the users with its speed and power. The design is inspired from HTC Legend as it is completely covered with aluminum covering.
Unlike Wildfire S, this phone comes with a faster 1GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon processor and a bigger 3.7-inch SLCD display, but the camera remains the same, a 5 megapixel at the back and a 1.3 megapixel at the front for video chat. The battery is more powerful(1450mAh) because the phone needs this to run the faster processor and the 768 RAM memory. Connectivity options include Bluetooth 2.0 and Wi-Fi b/g/n.
The HTC Incredible S smartphone is the biggest release of HTC among the three, both literally and metaphysically. It is a huge phone with a bright WVGA display with a 4-inch Super LCD screen. This phone also features stereo surround sound to make your video viewing experience more cinematic. It also features DLNA technology to take your viewing to an even bigger screen.
Unlike the other two phones of this batch of release, this phone features a powerful 8-megapixel camera enough to capture your memories with finest details. And if this is not enough the phone will obviously feature a front facing camera for your video chat activities.
All three smartphones released by HTC do not offer something innovative or cutting edge, but in our opinion there will have a lot of success because they have some interesting features. HTC Wildfire S, Desire S and Incredible S are coming to the major European and Asian stores in the second quarter of 2011, but nothing about pricing is hinted till now.
