HP redefines Desktop PCs with TouchSmart 610 and 9300

HP Touchsmart 610The HP Touchsmart 610 Consumer PC and HP Touchsmart 9300 Business PC are two desktop PCs from HP which feature a reclining hinge which will let you recline the monitor up to 60 degrees giving you the capability to comfortably use the touchscreen display.

Unlike the all big competitors in the market, HP has chosen to take a new path and besides tablets and laptops they have paid some attention to the desktop market also. From the names it’s obvious that they are targeting two kinds of consumers, the home users and the business users by varying some features in the two models.

The desktop PC as a whole looks like an ordinary one with a 23 inch LED backlit LCD display till the monitor is tilted. The magic begins when you recline it to a comfortable position and start the touch interaction. Both the devices feature Blu-ray drive, dual microphone and SD card reader, but there will be some difference in the two models in case of specs. The HP TouchSmart 610 features  a 23 inch LCD display with 1920×1080 pixels and the availability of a good number of touch friendly apps like, Netflix, Twitter, Hulu. There will also be an app store named as TouchSmart Apps Center.

You can put up to 16GB of RAM in this this device and 1TB of hard disk memory. On this model you will also have the option of choose an Intel or AMD processor while on the other model will only come with an Intel processor. Another exclusive offer this device features is the Beats Audio Speakers which will come with this package. With this device you will be able to do all the regular jobs of a desktop with the advantage of Multitouch input easing your jobs like photo editing or social networking. Some select models of TouchSmart are also going to offer a game from Ubisoft, called R.U.S.E which costs $49.44.

HP TouchSmart 9300 is purely meant for business because you can use it in different workplaces and you can “wall mount it” besides the ordinary desk positioning. This model also has a facial recognition software included to be used with the 2 megapixel webcam for extra security purpose. Same as TouchSmart 610 it also features Windows 7 operating system though HP has cut the choice of processor in the business version of this device. You can only use Intel’s Core i3 or Core i7 processors with this desktop. The TouchSmart 9300 Business PC also offers 16GB RAM and 1TB hard drive plus an option of adding 160GB of SSD or solid state drive. HP Touchsmart 9300 These two devices are not going to be out in the market simultaneously. The TouchSmart 610 is going to hit the market first on February 9 in the United States and the starting price of this one is $899.99. The exact release date of TouchSmart 9300 is scheduled somewhere in May, but a price has not been yet announced.
