Phone Batteries will last longer, says Hitachi

Lithium-Ion BatteryGood news found today around the Internet: it seams that from next year our cellphone batteries will last longer.

How is that possible? Hitachi announced a new technology that will double the time of the lithium ion batteries. Of course it will be a secret metallic material and the positive electrode of the battery will use manganese instead of cobalt, which will make the price even lower than it was. Thank to this new metallic material Hitachi achieved to expand the life span of the battery to 10 years.

So, dear fellows starting March 2011(according to Hitachi) new mobile phones will be equipped with this long-lasting batteries.
