We got a leak today from engadget crew that contain HP Slate tablet specifications. What is interesting in this leak is that the specs are presented against the iPad ones, so we can say the battle begun before HP Slate official release in stores.
The HP tablet comes with an 8.9-inches multi-touch screen and supports a resolution of 1024 x 600.
His processor has 1.6Ghz and is an Intel Atom Z530 while the internal memory(RAM) has 1Gb DDR2 and the storage can have 32/64Gb(upgradable through microSD). The installed operation system is Windows 7 Home Premium helped by HP touch-optimized user interface.
It offers basically almost same connectivity features as the iPad: Wi-Fi, Bluetooth combo, 3G, GPS, 3.5mm jack port, USB 2.0 dock connector.
The battery is a polymer type one and lasts up to 5+ hours, but despite this, Slate comes with a VGA webcam(3 megapixel), a feature that iPad doesn’t have.
A launch date for HP Slate tablet hasn’t been revealed yet, but the price is somewhere between $549-$599.
HP slate looks good to me. It’s amazing how every other company jumps on board once Apple make something thoguh! Cool gadgets though.
Can’t wait to get a new HP Slate, it looks fantastic!
