Acer Liquid Metal phone will be out in November

We have seen a couple of leaked pictures and rumors in various sites about an Acer 3.6 inch handset. Now they have officially announced Acer Liquid Metal proving almost every rumor about it true. It is loaded with Android 2.2 Froyo and an 800 MHz Qualcomm MSM 7230 processor + 512MB RAM which are able to run it smoothly. As announced, this version of Android will response 5 times faster than the earlier versions. It is also accompanied by Acer UI 4.0 interface making your on screen navigation easier.

The display is a 3.6 inch WVGA capacitive screen and the camera is a 5 megapixel autofocus camera with LED flash, image stabilizer, facial and smile recognition. Yes, like the latest smartphones you can record videos in HD at 720p with 30fps frame rate with this phone too. In case of playback also it beats many of its competitors with the ability to play Xvid high resolution videos. The audio playback is also enhanced by Dolby Surround technology and Dynamic Bass Boost.

The software part of this handset is really smart in every step. To handle a big number of apps it has a new interface from Acer called Breeze. Your updates and alerts are present on screen even if it is locked. You can quickly go to your favorite app or customize your homescreen with all the shortcuts arranged in your way. To meet your social demands it has a separate app also named SocialJogger. This will combine your Facebook and Twitter updates and let you interact very easily with them. At the top of the phone there are three LED indicators to notify you about battery charge, new messages and missed calls.

The most mentionable thing about this phone is its connectivity. The HSPA 3G connectivity has an insane speed of 14.4Mbps, but also other connectivity options like Bluetooth 2.1 and Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n could not be forgotten. You can also share this high speed 3G by making your mobile phone a Wi-Fi hotspot for other Wi-Fi devices.  It has two microphones to reduce the noise in the background and make your voice clearer.

Upgrading the firmware is the easiest thing with this phone because you can upgrade it through Firmware over-the-air (FOTA) without connecting it to a PC. All the multimedia content of this device can be shared with other DLNA supported devices with its DLNA/UPnP feature.

The curvy design on this set gives you a good impression about the phone at the first look. The stainless steel battery cover and chrome trims are also elegant to look at. Its memory is expandable up to 32GB with an external microSD card. You will find the other smartphone features also like A-GPS, Document Viewer, Voice memo etc.

Altogether this is a perfect phone with all that a user needs. Acer Liquid Metal will be priced at £299 and it will be available from mid-November or from December in some places.
