Nvidia wants to overcome Apple’s iPhones with cheap yet powerful processors

Nvidia Tegra 3Nvidia is out for blood from the big Apple. They are going head to head against the iPhone 4S with dual-core phones cheaper than Apple can touch. The graphics chip maker is shooting to undercut Apple’s iPhone 4S by a mile, cnet anticipates. It may look to the average person as if Nvidia has lost its quad-core mind, going up against the world’s most valuable tech company.

Nvidia calls the segment they are targeting the “1,000 RMB phone” in China. They will launch their phone with a 3G modem and the Tegra 2 dual-core chip, or so says Jen-Hsun Huang, Chief Executive Officer. At this price, the phone turns out to be 75 percent cheaper than the 4,988 RMB iPhone 4S.

iPad 2 and iPhone 4S Untethered Jailbreak is now available for iOS 5 Users

iOS 5 JailbreakLast year, in March 2011, the iPad 2 was released by Apple. Just a few months after that device was released the iPhone 4 was revamped and the iPhone 4S was released on October 4, 2011. Thousands of consumers flocked over to purchase these new gadgets – marveling in their capabilities and features however the new-ness quickly wore off and they began anticipating the release of something else: the jailbreak.

After months of waiting the Chronic Dev Team (a team of iOS hackers dedicated to freeing Apple products from their obnoxious constraints) began teasing followers with tidbits of information on the release of the jailbreak.

At first it was just tweets stating they were working on it tirelessly and that they “were close” and then, much to everyone’s delight, a video was released showing an untethered iPhone 4S sporting Cydia (see it here on YouTube).

Apple’s iPhone 4S components reveal new partners

Apple iPhone 4S ComponentsSo much hoopla, followed by so much disappointment – this mars Apple’s debut of the iPhone 4S. Appearances can be deceptive, though. What has changed inside may not be visible from without. So let us have a look at the guts of the iPhone 4S and see what has changed in Apple’s partnerships by what has been swapped out in its components.

Apple has recovered from the drop in shares by more than $20 on October 4th, but that was simply the evidence of ignorant consumer confidence based on appearances. Apple has been conducting revisions of its partnerships behind the scene. With estimates of 81 million iPhone 4S’ to be sold next year, this is not a trifling issue.

Intel has been nearly wiped out of the Apple picture and replaced by Qualcomm. It tried to buy its way in by purchasing Infineon, which made wireless chips that were contracted by Apple. Before Intel bought the chip manufacturer, Apple used a $10 per phone chip. After the buyout, Apple dropped to a $0.50 per phone chip. Qualcomm is top dog now at $14-15 per phone.

My first impressions with the Apple iPhone 4S Device

Apple iPhone 4S BoxThe Apple iPhone 4S was released on Friday, October 14th and was a major hit worldwide. It certainly got me interested as soon as I heard the news that it was going to be released.

The core features of the device are: the A5 processor (similar to the iPad 2), the 8-megapixel camera with auto focus and LED flash, 1080P video playback, adjusted antenna for twice the speed of the iPhone 4, Siri, and lots more. I was in line for device and was the first customer at my local corporate AT&T store to test it out!

The iPhone 4S is a beast of a device in my opinion. The processor is noticably faster than the iPhone 4 and it handles the multitasking feature a lot better. I am able to easily navigate through the Facebook application, have the Safari browser open, and have a movie in the background all at the same time. The best part is: there is no lag or signs of slowing down. I can’t even feel the device heating up! After the break you can see my first hands-on video with the iPhone 4S device.

What Network Operator do you choose for your iPhone: Sprint, AT&T or Verizon?

Sprint iPhone 4SSprint has announced that their unlimited data plan will include iPhone 4S phone. Opting for such a popular device will surely bring more customers to Sprint network becouse of their relatively cheap rates. In comparison to AT&T and Verizon’s rates (which do not have an unlimited cap), the rate for an iPhone is simply amazing on Sprint.

To be more specific, Sprint has a plan that allows their customers to have an unlimited usage of voice, data and messaging for $99.99. Of course, they do offer discounted rates for lower-end usage, which include a $69.99 plan with 450 minutes and a mid-tier $89.99 plan with 900 minutes. And also all of the mentioned plans require a $10 Premium Data “add-on” to access Sprint’s Now Network.
