The GPD WIN 2 is a handheld gaming console that can play some of the top games, like Grand Theft Auto 5, whenever and where ever you are. One of the aims of the device is to avoid overheating and poor battery capacity with high-quality performance. All in a compact handheld console that runs Windows.
GPD WIN 2 Specs
With the GPD WIN 2, the processing power is run by an Intel Core m3-7y30 and Intel HD Graphics 615 chip. The memory is 8GB of RAM; external storage is an M.2 SSD 128GB that is replaceable with SSD hard drives of any size. The screen is 1280×720, 6-inches with H-IPS technology and the size of the console is 162x99x25mm. The body is ABS + aluminum alloy, the battery is 2x4900mAh and offers 6-8 hours of battery life.
This console is the second generation of the GPS WIN, and this iteration has is an upgrade following issues with the original device. To cool the device, there is active cooling that is something not found on other devices. The screen is from Sharp, the process is from the Kaby Lake series from Intel, and PD 2.0 fast charge there for quick charging.
Controlling the game
The design of the console is compact but has all the buttons you will need. There is a QWERTY keyboard, analog sticks and D-pad and four A, B, X and Y buttons like a standard console control pad. Right, and left trigger buttons are on the back of the console. There is built-in dual vibration inside the device that enhances gameplay. With connections, there is a Type-C USB, headphone, MicroSD and Micro HDMI slots.
Some of the games that the GPD WIN 2 can play include NBA 2K18, Grand Theft Auto 5, Overwatch, League of Legends, DOTA2, The Elder Scrolls 5: Skyrim and World of Warcraft. Gamers can play online, using games on the Steam platform, play PS4 and Xbox One games streamed and used the console as a video game console emulator.
Additional features
The GPD WIN 2 is also a tiny computer. Users have access to other Windows 10 program like Microsoft Office or web browsing. There is an additional capability of charging your mobile device using this gadget.
Currently, on IndieGoGo, one GPD Win 2 console will set you back $649; two consoles are $1290, and five consoles is $3220.
