Following Samsung we find out today that they will release on May 19th, a new smarthphone called i637 Jack. It seems this gadget will be the successor of the BlackJack’s models that Samsung released in the past. Let’s take a look and find out what it contain.
The interesting thing for me, this model has Windows Mobile 6.1 Standard operating system and can pe upgrade to 6.5 version when it will be available.
It has a 2.4″ TFT display with 65K colors and a screen resolution of 320 x 240 pixels. It looks pretty much as a BlackBerry, as it have the same QWERTY keyboard, but not the navigation keys that a BlackBerry have.
The smartphone comes with an 528 Mhz processor and 256 Mb Ram, good enough for running your wanted applications: Windows Media Player 10, AOL, Adobe Flash Lite, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Pdf viewer and so on…
The phone has just 12.7mm thick, weights just 102 grams and on the back of it is a 3.15 Megapixel camera with video-capture features.
You can pretty expect the basic connectivity features(instead of Infrared one): GPRS, EDGE, 3G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 2.00 and Usb 2.0.
Talking about the life of the battery I can say is normal, i637 Jack model is having a Li-Ion 1480 mAh battery capable of 288 hours in stand by mode or up to 7h in talk time.
