HTC releases heavy hitting Desire 820 smartphone

HTC Desire 820The new Desire 820 smartphone from HTC is making waves thanks to an advanced bit of hardware that puts it beyond most high end models.

HTC had experienced a lot of up and downs when it comes to their products. Some of their devices have tested well and gained their supporters, but they never quite manage to claw their way over other brands, in spite of having some pretty good smartphones.

Now they might have broken free of that curse. The Desire 820 will be the first to feature ¬†Qualcomm’s Octacore Snapdragon 615 1 and 1.5 Ghz processing chips.

Sony unveiled Xperia Z3 line at IFA 2014

Sony Xperia Z3 and Xperia Z3 CompactIt was a big day for Sony at IFA in Berlin. During the largest tech conference in Europe, the company unveiled their latest line of Xperia Z3 devices, including two smartphones and a tablet.

Sony has always struggled to break into the mobile market, though not for lack of trying. Better known at this stage for their Playstation consoles, they have been attempting to crawl their way into the growing mobile industry for years.

While there have been attempts before, this might just be their breakthrough flagship attempt.

Lenovo unveils Yoga 2 Pro, ThinkPad Yoga at IFA 2013

Lenovo Yoga 2 ProLenovo has unveiled a series of products at the Berlin IFA 2013 electronics show this morning, including two new additions to their popular Yoga series, the Yoga Pro 2 and the ThinkPad Yoga.

In an industry currently going through some major growing pains as it tries to adapt to the new needs of consumers, Lenovo has been doing surprisingly well. Convinced that laptops are dying and that PC’s have long since lost their appeal, they have been attempting to create intermediary devices that are more portable but still have the wider applications of the products that came before them.

One of the main ways they have been doing this is by making tablet/laptop hybrids that are lightweight and have swinging hinges that create a stand while also offering a keyboard. Turning it into both a touch screen, standing tablet and a basic laptop style computer.

The Yoga 2 Pro and ThinkPad Yoga use the same format. But it is the Yoga 2 that has the real stand out features that sets it apart from any of its predecessors.
