Google shows off the latest Chromebook Pixel 2, with some serious hardware upgrades

Google Chromebook Pixel 2Google has released the latest Chromebook Pixel, the second in the series and one that they hope will impress even the most hardened user with its hardware upgrades and serious power boost.

The first thing anyone will notice about the Chromebook Pixel 2 will probably be the weight. While most laptops and netbooks are getting sleeker, thinner and lighter, the Pixel is relatively heavy by comparison. It is a full 3.3 lbs, nothing insane but certainly more than its more manageable counterparts.

Extra weight is courtesy of more power, which makes it worth it.

Google Haswell ChromebooksThe Chromebook has been a very quiet device in the past. Using low cost parts in order to present a budget friendly laptop, things never quite took off. But now they have announced a new, better version that uses Intel Haswell processors, as well as a new Chromebox using the same.

Back when the Chromebook was first launched, it had a lot of hype. Google had promised a functional but affordable alternative to other brands that were charging an arm and a leg.

The curious case of Google’s Chromebook Pixel

Google Chromebook PixelIt happened few hours ago and we were all shocked: an ad company called Slinky was under attack and hackers exposed one of their most precious things – the ad video of the next Google Chromebook called Pixel.

Hoax or not the tech world immediately burst to talk about this subject. Some of them were excited to see the video and how Chromebook Pixel looked like while other were skeptical. Frankly, I would like to stay at the same place with skeptical, since it’s not the first time a product/video leak around the web.

On a first look, I have to say the Chromebook Pixel concept looks cool enough to get your eyes and makes you want to find out more.
