Google, Apple, leading cryptologists and others have sent a letter to President Obama addressing some voices in Washington who want to be able to easily access a citizen’s personal information.

Senior law enforcement officials warn about their inability to access data is a public threat as tech companies create more and more sophisticated encryption methods.

Obama Tech MeetingDespite earlier reports to the contrary, sources are claiming that President Barack Obama is considering a total revamp of the NSA amidst the continued scandal to their massive spying operation.

The scope of the National Security Agency’s surveillance has stunned people all over the world, but especially those in the United States. Records of nearly every citizen’s phone and internet behavior have been collected and stored in massive data centers. A committee was assembled to examine the problem and discuss possible solutions. One suggestion was to transfer the trillion phone records to a third party agency, an idea Obama rejected.
