Amazon LogoEarlier this month we got a sneak peek at the new Amazon Kindle Fire HD 2. Now we are getting a better look at the specs of the device, including what will power it. This gives us a much better view of what the new Kindle is likely to offer us.

According to reports, the higher display is going to be supported by a much more powerful core processor. It will sport a quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 chip, with an impressive 400 CPUs and Adreno 330 graphics.

It would appear this device really is meant as a replacement for the Kindle Fire, which had a mixed reception and a number of problems that kept it from becoming as popular as the other Kindle models.
