Edward Snowden, who has been living in Russia following threats to his person after his NSA revelations, was joined by filmmaker and journalist Laura Poitras (Citizenfour), and journalist and attorney Glenn Greenwald for the discussion. All three had a great deal to say about the leaks, the fallout, and the future of privacy across the globe.

Edward Snowden NBC interviewEdward Snowden has sat down with Brian Williams of Nightly News on NBC for an interview. It is the first time he has appeared on a US based network since his massive document leak turned the intelligence world upside down.

Snowden has his dissenters who claim he is a traitor. However, for the most part his actions have been applauded by a global public becoming all the more aware by the day of the full extent of government surveillance.

He has been on the run for months and ended up in Russia. While there, claims began to come from former CIA agents who were suggesting he was spying for the Kremlin, and had been in contact with the Russians since 2007. However, no proof was offered to show this, nor is there any indication that Snowden has given information to the Russian government.

NSA documents reveal plan to infect millions of computers with data tracking malware

NSA Spy ViewAnother alarming find in the documents leaked by Edward Snowden have shown the NSA’s intention to infect millions of computers globally with malware. The malicious implant would siphon data from targeted computers in massive quantities, giving otherwise protected devices an open backdoor.

This appears to be a joint effort by the NSA and the British GCHQ. Listening stations have been placed in the UK and Japan, though the primary center of operations is in Maryland, USA, where the primary headquarter is located.
