Samsung Gear S SmartWatchSamsung has once again released a gadget in their smartwatch Gear S series. This time, they have gone for a design that looks more like an actual timepiece.

In the past incarnations, Samsung went with a high tech display version of their Gear series. However, when that failed to entice consumers, they decided to go with something a little more classic.

The Samsung Gear S brings 3G connectivity to the product line, but gets rid of the old design. Now, it looks a bit more like a traditional watch, with a wide, square and curved display and old school clock face.

Apple EmployeesA new report coming from people unnamed inside of Apple say that smartwatches are coming, and that the company is dedicated to making them better than anything else on the market.

Those who have read my comments on smartwatches before know that I am not a fan in their current incarnation. They are more or less just very expensive accessories to smartphones. Other than fitness tracking, which can be had much cheaper using the multitude of other compatible devices out there, releases have been disappointing.

Android Wear signals the start of the SmartWatch revolution

Google Android WearI was very happy yesterday when I heard that Android finally took the decision to announce Android Wear OS and signal if it wasn’t clear enough that this is the start of the SmartWatch revolution. Motorola and LG apparently understood this signal and didn’t hesitate to show us how the first Android SmartWatches will look like.

After experiencing with smartphones, tablets and laptops it appears that Google wanted to go further on watches, making them smart. The good thing is that Android Wear looks like a polished operating system and this is why it might be interesting after all. I guess Matias Duarte team also had ideas here and there.
