The creators of Siri have announced a brand new creation from their brilliant minds, the artificial intelligence assistant named Viv.

Apple based Siri has become both a technological powerhouse, and a cultural touchstone. Now the creators behind it have moved on to the next stage.

Viv is a more advanced AI that works by connecting to multiple sources of information and drawing responses right from the pools of data themselves. No more regurgitating web search results; this assistant is smarter, sleeker, and more accurate. Not to mention more knowledgeable, with the ability to jump from source to source to bring back the best possible answer.

The Apple iPhone 4S was released on Friday, October 14th and was a major hit worldwide. It certainly got me interested as soon as I heard the news that it was going to be released.

The core features of the device are: the A5 processor (similar to the iPad 2), the 8-megapixel camera with auto focus and LED flash, 1080P video playback, adjusted antenna for twice the speed of the iPhone 4, Siri, and lots more. I was in line for device and was the first customer at my local corporate AT&T store to test it out!

The iPhone 4S is a beast of a device in my opinion. The processor is noticably faster than the iPhone 4 and it handles the multitasking feature a lot better. I am able to easily navigate through the Facebook application, have the Safari browser open, and have a movie in the background all at the same time. The best part is: there is no lag or signs of slowing down. I can’t even feel the device heating up! After the break you can see my first hands-on video with the iPhone 4S device.

The new iPhone 4S is not merely an improvement on the already successful iPhone 4. It indicates a radical sleight of the hand in business focus for Apple, away from hardware and onto software and online services. In particular, the iCloud is now an integral feature, and perhaps the chief feature of the iPhone, from here on out.

Yes, Siri, which utilizes the iCloud, is here to stay. Of course, they may want to rethink the name, since this is too close to a widely used term for “ass” in Japanese. Nevertheless, the feature will irreversibly tie in the iPhone with the iCloud. Coupled with the new iOS5, millions will be stress testing the new operating system and the iCloud capabilities.

Finally, the moment that everyone was waiting for: The release of the next-generation iPhone device (well, sort of).
