Travis Kalanick UBERIn the midst of a number of controversies and a new business model, Uber CEO Travis Kalanick has officially resigned. But those who work for the amateur taxi service has protested, and want him back in the driver’s seat.

The Resignation

It has been a contentious time for Uber and for Kalanick himself. Earlier this year a sexual harassment lawsuit was opened by one of the companies employees. That sparked a flood of other complaints that exposed a culture of lacking professionalism, harassment to female employees, and other forms of discrimination that led to major backlash against the driving service.

Satya Nadella officially named Microsoft CEO, introduces himself

Satya Nadella Microsoft CEOAfter months of waiting and speculation, Satya Nadella, rumored last week to have been the top pick for Microsoft’s CEO position, has been officially confirmed for the position. He hasn’t wasted any time, and the moment the announcement was made he emailed an introduction email to his new employees.

Many within the company would have already known the man personally, other by at least name or sight. Nadella has been working for Microsoft for more than twenty years, joining up in 1992. Since then he has been a part of several of departments, and headed others. Most recently, he was the vice president of the Cloud and Enterprise Department.

Microsoft may have finally found a CEO

MicrosoftReports are circulating the web that Microsoft, which has been struggling to find a replacement for outgoing CEO Steve Ballmer, may have finally made their choice.

Satya Nadella is allegedly poised to take the CEO position, but that isn’t all. He could also be taking Bill Gates place on the Board of Directors, another big surprise that hasn’t yet been confirmed.

The move to promote Nadella is an interesting one. So far, media reports have been focused on outside candidates that may have potentially been shortlisted for the job. But there had been no real speculation about in-company advancement.

MicrosoftWhile it was rumored that the new Microsoft CEO would be named this month, those eagerly anticipating the news will have to wait. It doesn’t look as though the board of directors is any closer in naming Ballmer’s replacement than they were a few months ago.

For the most part, the delay seems to be due to Bill Gates. Still an active member in his company, he is an integral part in finding and naming a CEO. He is one of the members of the board who has to give the go-ahead for any candidate.
