The new Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 chipset will be introduced in 2015

Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 FeaturesProcessor manufacturing stalwart Qualcomm has announced the coming of the Snapdragon 810 and 808 chipsets. These next-gen chips are expected to power the latest smartphones and gadgets coming in the year 2015.

The majority of smartphones have a Qualcomm of some description powering it, with the exception of a few (like Apple). The Snapdragon series are quite popular(especially Snapdragon 800), used in a huge number of high and medium end models to keep up with the rising improvement of graphics on even less impressive devices.

With 2015 not too far away, the company is looking to the future of their technology and what it might mean for the changing features of smartphones everywhere.

The announcement of the Snapdragon 810 and 808 processors underscore Qualcomm Technologies’ continued commitment to technology leadership and a time-to-market advantage for our customers for premium tier 64-bit LTE-enabled smartphones and tablets, Executive VP Murthy Renduchintala said in a statement this morning.

These product announcements, in combination with the continued development of our next-generation custom 64-bit CPU, will ensure we have a tremendous foundation on which to innovate as we continue to push the boundaries of mobile computing performance in the years to come.

Indeed, that is one claim they can backup…Qualcomm is always ahead of the game. From the press release, we find out that the Snapdragon 810 specs are quite impressing:

Of all of the coming brands that use Qualcomm in their hardware, the one I am most excited about seeing in 2015 has got to be Samsung. You just know they are going to be the first one trying something crazy and innovative. Even if it doesn’t work (a real possibility).
