With just a few hours before the official start of the Mobile World Congress 2014, Huawei officially announced E5786, world’s fastest MiFi. For starters, a MiFi is actually a mobile Wi-Fi hotspot.
This little new device supports 4G LTE download speeds up to 300Mbps and upload speeds of 100Mbps, which is quite amazing knowing that is pretty hard to find a device reaching these crazy speeds in theory.
The device looks nice and it comes with some impressive specs besides being fast. Huawei MiFi comes with a HiSilicon LTE Cat6 chipset that runs on a powerful 28 nm HPM Cortex A9 processor, which is already popular on a lot of smartphones.
In theory this should be just a device that helps you connect to Internet, the same way a router does.E5786 MiFi supports IEEE 802.11a/b/g/n/ac Wi-Fi protocols, which means that it can hold up to 10 connections at the same time and it’s also world’s first MiFi that works on both the 2.4Ghz and 5Ghz frequency bands at the same time.
Huawei wanted to go even further than this, they added a 3000 mAh that supports reverse charging which means it can be also used to charge other devices. Huawei says the E5786 MiFi should last 10 hours maximum, depending on what network you use. A network that supports higher speeds might drain this battery faster. It also supports a microSD card slot(up tot 32GB).
Another cool feature is that the MiFi can display QR codes on its TFC-LCD display, which is quite handy if you want to add a long unbreakable password to secure your little device. Huawei says that we should be able to buy world’s fastest MiFi in the second half of 2014.
