Another company, another idea, another interesting gadget…
I present you today the HTC TOUCH DIAMOND 2, a long name for a mobile phone, but let’s hope at least it’s worth it.
As we see in the left photo the phone has a nice, slim and interesting design with 13.7 mm thick. It weight almost 120g but at least is full with a lot of cool features.
The display is a 3.2″ TFT resistant one with 65k colors and supporting a resolution of 480 x 800 pixels. Also here you will discover the new TouchFLO 3D finger swipe navigation and the navigation controls or the handwriting recognition and zoom control.
A 5 megapixel camera it’s situated at the back of this having autofocus, touchfocus and a VGA videocall camera is on the front of it. The applications inside the gadget are various: internet(Opera browser), email, stocks, music, weather, file manager and many more. For example the sms messages are written from a small virtual QWERTY keyboard or the images are viewed through a very nice image gallery. Another cool application(in my opinion) is called RSS Hub and as you wished or figured out it supports you to read all the RSS feeds you enjoy reading same as you do it on computers.
The video player have a lot of features including support for mp4, 3gp and for DivX/XviD files and the files can be viewed in fullscreen mode very realistic on the WVGA display. Also to complete, the audio quality is very good and the RDS Radio can help you very much to test it(don’t forget the headset).
The operating system that runs all this wonderful applications is Microsoft Windows Mobile 6.1 Professional and it’s supported by the Qualcomm MSM7200A 528 MHz processor. Maybe the names don’t tell you big things, but the 288 MB RAM and 512 MB ROM memory may tell you how fast and outperform is this phone. The internal memory can be extended through microSD card.
I didn’t forgot to tell you about connectivity options: Bluetooth 2.0, 3G, Wi-Fi and microUSB.
Finally let’s say if you decide to buy this gadget model, I say to you do it, not for the usual things such as performance, but for various applications that we talked about in this short review.
