Sony announced PSP2 as the Next Generation Portable or NGP

Sony NGP PSP 2Sony has recently announced the next version of PSP, called Next Generation Portable or NGP which they are claiming to be equally powerful as the PlayStation 3. There were a good number of rumors in the tech world and different media about the next generation of Sony’s handheld gaming device. Sony made their announcement of the NGP in a press conference which took place at Tokyo with its full specs and details with an estimated release time.

The NGP or PSP2 features connectivity options like Bluetooth, Wi-Fi or 3G and guiding options like GPS or Digital Compass. NGP is going to be big on screen too with its 5-inch OLED display of 960 x 544 pixels. Sony has also considered the long demanded feature of the gamers, dual analog sticks in this portable version of PlayStation. Sony Ericsson Xperia X2 pictures

As you see the gadget is in silver color and have a QWERTY slide keyboard. The high quality WVGA display is very big, having 3.5 inches.

The model hasn’t been officially announced, but from these screens we know that it will come with Windows Mobile 6.5 and the processor is an Qualcomm MSM7200 having 528Mb.

It is also rummored the phone will have an 8 megapixel camera with auto focus shooter and a LED flash. As connectivity feature we know that 3G and HSDPA will be supported.

Satio or Idou model come with an TFT touchscreen, 16M colors and a resolution of 360 x 640 pixels or 3.5 “. The stunning display offers incredible pictures/videos quality also excellent brightness and contrast.

As we said the 12 megapixel camera features: autofocus, xenon flash, video LED flash,Touch focus, geo-tagging, face and smile detection. Despite the fact that his direct rival, Samsung Omnia HD shoot videos in HD format, Satio model takes videos in VGA format @30 frames per second.
