Rumors have been flying the entire year, claiming LG is the manufacturer of the TV inside Apple HDTV. Out of all of the big named display manufacturers, LG has the tightest relationship with Apple.
Among the products LG manufactures for Apple are the iPhone Retina Displays, iPod Touch, a few and iPad displays. In addition to these ties with Apple, a $500 investment has been sunk into LG displays by Apple in 2009. The total money invested was in exchange for an exclusive access to the 27-inch displays which are now known as Thunderbolt Displays, used for iMacs. It was only a temporary arrangement, though.
Sony, on the other hand, while manufacturing OLED’s, has no such relationship with Apple, particularly regarding displays. Finally, Samsung, a third OLED manufacturer, is battling Apple over patent infringement. +Continue Reading
LG is far from the top of anyone’s list when it comes to great smartphone companies. It has been a long time since they have done anything noteworthy with phones. Now the company wants to re-invent itself by designing and releasing the Nitro HD.
LG has not put itself on the line with a new smartphone flagship product in such a long time. Yet, they are taking the risk to try to re-enter the market with a bit of a punch this time, in the form of the Nitro HD smartphone.
The Nitro HD sells for $249.99, when a contract is signed. This is a rarity among phones. It is AT&T’s first phone equipped with a 720p display. It is also among the only three phones in the world that can utilize the AT&T LTE network. The LG Optimus 3D is another addition to the LG’s 3D approach to the market. At the Mobile World Congress 2011 LG came out with another of their 3D product, this time a 3D phone with a dual core 1 GHz TI OMAP 4 processor. It has many technologies which are ‘first’ in the market. Tri-dual configuration is one of the first things they are introducing besides 3D which means dual-core, dual-channel and dual-memory which is expected to offer smoother experience than the other smartphones that are using a 1GHz dual core processors.
Another cool addition are the two 5 megapixel cameras that can record 3D videos and play it directly to any 3DTV. LG G-Slate or Optimus Pad is another one of the first Honeycomb devices coming to the market in the Q1 of 2011. This year at CES the whole Honeycomb attention was pulled by Motorola Xoom, a tablet that is also getting a good support from the Google themselves.

Along with the extreme smooth performance it packs some high definition multimedia features. The NVIDIA Tegra 2 processor enables you to browse through files and multitask freely without any lags.

They are wiping off the idea about what they had previously when LG mobile phones meant java only phones with more app unfriendliness. After some successful Androids now they are showcasing the new lines of Windows Phone 7 devices which till now are not letting them down. The LG Optimus 7 is a meant for Windows Phone 7 OS having a 3.8-inches capacitive touch screen and a 1Ghz Qualcomm Snapdragon processor.
