The phone comes with a large display, a WVGA super Amoled one having 3.3-inches and 16M colors. Under this display there are 3 hardware keys, Call, Menu and End/Call one while above there are is an earpiece and the video-call camera.

On the right side of the phone there are two buttons, camera and lock screen ones while on the other side there are the volume rockers.

Top of the phone has a loudspeaker grill, 3.5mm audio jack and the microUSB port(covered by a plastic lid).

At the back of the phone is a 5 megapixel camera equipped with autofocus and LED flash plus a lot of cool features: Face/Blink detection, Lomo/Vintage/Beauty/Smile/Panorama Shot, Geo-tagging or Image Editor are some of them. The camera is capable of HD video playing/recording(720p@30fps) with continuous autofocus and video light. Under the back panel there is the 1500 mAh Li-Ion battery and a microSD card slot.

Samsung S8500 has revamped the TouchWiz 3 user interface and comes with a new operating system called Bada. The new operating system is powered by a 1GHz ARM Cortex A8 processor and 100 built in applications available in Bada app store.

The breath taking part comes at connectivity features. Bluetooth 3.0 is available with A2DP support along the standard GPRS, EDGE, 3G, Wi-Fi, microUSB. In a word, all-inclusive connectivity. Gps is available through A-Gps support and comes with Google Maps 3.0.

The Internet will be browsed with Samsung Dolphin Browser 2.0 which comes with Flash support, but lacks auto-complete address option.

Samsung S8500 Wave will be available in stores from April 2010 and I think we will talk again about it soon.

We will take them in order and try to write a brief for you.
XPERIA X10, a model we previewed long time ago and whom will be available soon in stores, has 2 little brothers now called: XPERIA X10 Mini and XPERIA X10 Mini Pro. The two little models have same internal characteristics, but contain small design differences, with the pro model being a QWERTY version of the mini version.

The camera has 5 megapixel, autofocus, LED flash and Geo-tagging, the processor is a Qualcomm MSM7227 having 600MHz. Both phones come with Android 1.6 as running operating system and .

It’s hard to notice, but Mini Pro version is 0.7 cm longer, 0.2 cm thinner than Mini one and the QWERTY keyboard doesn’t make the phone look too big. Gps, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, Radio FM, Wisepilot turn by turn or Timescape application are some of the features you’ll discover if you plan to buy one of this two phones.

Next models: Vivaz and Vivaz Pro.

You learn the trick, Vivaz is the classic model, while the Vivaz Pro is the same plus a sliding QWERTY keyboard.

They come with a 3.2-inches TFT touchscreen that has 16M colors. Vivaz Pro 4-rows QWERTY keyboard appears when  you slide the phone on the right side.

Vivaz is equipped with a 8.1 megapixel camera device while Vivaz Pro has a 5 megapixel one, but both phone cameras have 4x digital zooming, autofocus, LED flash, Geo-tagging, face and smile detection and also video recording(720p@24fps).

The operating system running on both devices is Symbian S60 5th edition and the processor have 720 MHz. Gps, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, Wisepilot, Tv-out, Radio FM, video streaming or 3D Games are some of the features or applications that will make you curious.

The last model we will talk about today is called Aspen.

After two Androids(X10 Mini and X10 Mini Pro) and two Symbians(Vivaz and Vivaz Pro) is now the Windows turn to feature a Sony Ericsson phone.

Aspen has a 2.4-inches QVGA TFT touchscreen that has 16M colors. Under it, there is a full QWERTY keyboard, perfect for messages or browsing the Internet.

It has a 3.2 megapixel camera with 4x digital zooming and smart contrast. The phone has 100 Mb of internal memory, but supports microSD and the operating system is Microsoft Windows Mobile 6.5.3 Professional.

Standard connectivity features are available on Aspen: Gps, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, 3G, microUSB. Phone will be  available in Q2 of 2010.

We don’t know yet any estimated prices of this phones.

Let’s begin with Legend, a model we’ve previewed last December in one of our post, discovering all of his features, but this was not official as it was at MWC. Made of a single piece of aluminium, the Legend phone has an AMOLED display with 16 M colors. It features an optical trackball, under the display and a 5 megapixel camera, on the back.

The processor is clocked at 600 Mhz and supports the Android™ 2.1 platform (Éclair) with HTC Sense. The storage has 384 Mb(RAM) and 512 Mb(ROM) which can be extended through microSD card slot, up to 32GB. Connectivity offers Bluetooth 2.1, Wi-Fi, Gprs, MicroUSB and the Li-Ion battery has 1300 mAh.

Enough with Legend, next is Desire.

Desire model is one the biggest mobile phone released by HTC on the market. It comes with an 3.7-inches AMOLED touchscreen and 1 Ghz Snapdragon processor(same as Nexus One). The operating system is the same as Legend, Android™ 2.1. Under the display there are 4 buttons and in the middle, is situated a trackpad. The back camera has 5 megapixel and the battery is an Li-Ion one with 1400 mAh. Internal memory has 512 Mb, the RAM one 576 MB and the connectivity options stays the same from Legend.

The last, but not the poorest model presented by HTC at MWC 2010 was the HD mini one.

As design HD mini is the smallest version of HD 2 model and comes with a 2.7-inches touchscreen. The processor has 600 Mhz and features Windows Mobile 6.5 version for operating system with HTC Sense user interface(UI). The back camera is the same, 5 megapixel as well as the connectivity features, but the battery is a Li-Ion one with 1200 mAh.

These are the three wonders that HTC featured during  MWC 2010 and plans to launch this year.

It seems that Intel and Nokia will join together to produce MeeGo, a Linux open source based project that bound Moblin and Maemo.

MeeGo will target tablets, netbooks, laptops, mobiles, connected TV’s and much more and will coexist will existing Symbian OS.

At the press conference, Intel and Nokia said MeeGo is build on the capabilities of the Moblin core OS and supports Maemo in the mobile industry and the adopted Qt application and UI framework for software developers.

MeeGo includes:

• Performance optimizations and features which enable rich computational and graphically oriented applications and connected services development
• No-compromise internet standards support delivering the best web experiences
• Easy to use, flexible and powerful UI/app development environment based on Qt
• Open source project organization managed by the Linux Foundation
• State of the Art Linux stack optimized for the size and capabilities of small footprint platforms and mobile devices, but delivering broad linux software application compatibility

The first MeeGo release will be available in Q2 of 2010.

The most expected announcement of day and maybe the congress, is the one made by Microsoft who made a preview of how Windows 7 series phone will look. The new OS has been presented by Microsoft CEO, Steve Ballmer itself and brings some quality updates.

In the left picture we see that the start screen is a collection of live updates coming from several sources such as phone, social networks, mail, pictures, xbox live games, zune music, internet explorer and so on. The start screen can be customized by user who can move or add different tiles.

Every phone that will have Windows 7 series, will come with 3 hardware buttons: Back, Start and Search. The search button(Bing) will reveal relevant web or local information based on your query.

Hubs bring together related content from the Web, applications and services into a single view to simplify common tasks. Windows Phone 7 Series includes six hubs built on specific themes reflecting activities that matter most to people: People, Pictures, Games, Music+Video, Marketplace, Office.

• People hub features live updates(feeds) gathered from social networks.

• Picture hub show photos synced from PC, taken with the camera device or a feed with latest photos made by your friend and available on social network.

• Games hub gives you Xbox Live games,  scores, avatars.

• Music and Video hub will work just like a Zune and will provide 3-party apps experiences. It plays the content from a user PC, online music and FM radio stations.

• Marketplace hub delivers apps and games.

• Office hub will give you access to Office, OneNote and SharePoint Workspace and help you to read, edit and share documents.

As Microsoft says this isn’t a next chapter in the smartphones, this is a new beginning. The first (Windows 7 series) phones will be available by Holiday 2010.

This week seems to be very busy as Mobile World Congress begun this week in Barcelona, Spain(15-18 February) and there are gonna be a lot of interesting announcements.

Don’t expect an awesome phone with blowing features, this is not a Nokia, Apple or Google made device, is one made in China.

We begin and say the TFT resistant display has 2-inches, 65.000 colors and supports a resolution up 240 x 320 pixels. Phone has 12.5 mm thick, 104 grams and 32 Mb internal memory(microSD card is supported up to 8GB). A special feature available on this phone is called turn to mute, which basically mutes the sounds of the phone(Calls or Alarm notifications) by turning the device upside down.

The design of the phone is simple and business: on the bottom of the phone you will find a 3.5 mm jack and the miniUSB port, while the sideways is features by a stainless insertion.

On the back of the phone is a bad example of 1.3 megapixel camera, capable of photos and even videos. Right near the camera there is the speaker grill, hiding the Yamaha sound amplifier, which provides an excellent sound experience. Under the case there is a Li-Ion 800 mAh battery which provides up to 3 hours of talk time or 100 hours of stand by.

If you are thinking about connectivity features you should know that GPRS, Bluetooth and Wap are supported. Phone is also equipped with usual apps: Alarm, Calendar, Watch, Calculator, E-book reader, Fm Radio.

Allview S2 Guld is available in stores since Q4 of 2009 with an estimated price of $150.

The major news is that it supports Wi-Fi, Gps and comes with a sliding full qwerty keyboard, but still lacks on some features that we would expected to score better.

Announced by Samsung last year, the new released phone comes with a 2.8-inches resistive touchscreen with 16M colors and a resolution of 240 x 320 pixels.

The whole phone is made by plastic, has 15.8 mm thick and weights 135 grams so it doesn’t seem so heavy or large for our pockets. Above the touchscreen there is a videocall camera and the earpiece while on the bottom there are 3 buttons(Call, Back, End Call).

The left side of the phone host the volume rocker buttons while on the right side we will find a microUSB port, a camera shutter key and the Lock/Unlock button for the touchscreen. A 3.5 mm port jack is situated on the top of the phone.

Try to slide the phone to the left side and you will discover the QWERTY keyboard. The keys are arranged in 4 rows(top row includes numeric keys), every key is made by plastic and is easy to be pressed.

On the back of the phone there is a 3 megapixel camera equipped with 2x zoom and fixed focus. Photos have a maximum resolution of 2048 x 1536 pixels and videos can be made in QVGA @15 fps. Under the the back case there is a 960 mAh Li-Ion battery that provides up to 8 hours of talk time and up to 560 hours of stand-by time. Under this cover is also the microSD card slot, which can support up to 16GB cards.

Connectivity comes very solid on this model and features 3G, GPRS, EDGE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 2.1 and microUSB. Gps comes with built-in Gps receiver and a single application, Google Maps. The web browser is fast and supports java or flash applications as well as one finger zooming during the view of websites.

The choice is yours to choose it or not, but Samsung B5310 CorbyPRO is available in stores with an estimated price of $ 290.

No wonder, the beginning of 2010 was captured by the released of the first Google phone called Nexus One. It is Apple turn now to capture our view and come with first tablet called iPad.

The new wonder has been presented by Apple CEO,  Steve Jobs at the Apple Special Event which took place in San Francisco on 27 January 2010.

Steve begin the presentation with some updates about the Apple company and then took us to the expected release of the iPad.

He claims that the iPad is a necessary device these days because is something between a phone and a laptop, but not a netbook. Netbooks are slow and use PC software, but a tablet should be fast at browsing, email, photos, music, video, games, ebooks.

iPad come with a 9.7-inch widescreen multi touch display(with IPS technology) and supports a 1024 x 768 pixel resolution. The screen is fingerprint resistant and is equipped with accelerometer and ambient light sensor.

It is a light tablet weighing 680 grams(Wi-Fi model) or 730 grams(Wi-Fi + 3G model) and measures 242.8mm on 189.7mm. Under the 13.4mm thickness, Apple has managed to build a battery that lasts up to 10 hours and even 30 days in stand by mode.

The high performance processor is an 1GHz Apple A4 custom-designed and the operating system is the iPhone 3.2.
