For everything you discovered and chose to share with us, we thank you Steve, technology world could not be so advanced without you. +Continue Reading
A few days ago, a blogger named Nik Cubrilovic reported that Facebook’s new API’s allows applications to post messages on the new Timeline, without users’ intervention.
The blogger explains that this new API is an extension of Facebook Instant, called “frictionless sharing” and although you might think Logging-Out will save you, it appears it doesn’t and you can end up sharing or recommending something you don’t want to.
Nik Cubrilovic showed that when you logout from your Facebook account, cookies are not removed but altered. +Continue Reading

There is a thin line which separates two awkwardly different worlds. When it comes to editorial independence, there are a lot of things that come in mind: stress, pressure, money. The highly reviewed and commented conflict between TechCrunch and AOL gives us the same argument once again.
About one year after the TechCrunch was acquired by AOL, their relation started to become a tough one. One year ago Michael Arrington, TechCrunch’s founder and current editor in chief, fiercely defended, even against his own collaborators’ opinions, the fact that the blog could benefit by being sold to AOL in a transaction rounding 20 million dollars. On that occasion Arrington talked about how this deal will help them solving some technical issues so they won’t have to worry about them and the TechCrunch guys could focus on writing. Well, the honeymoon didn’t lasted (as expected?) and recently Arrington announced his imminent retirement from the blog, in other words that means he could be fired from his own creation. +Continue Reading
As you already might know, IFA is one of the largest and more recognized trade shows over the world. For several years this event has set up the trend in consumer electronics and domestic appliances.
This year, as expected after all the preliminary media display, one of the biggest protagonists were the tablet PCs. Raising the bets on this field, Samsung deployed three new amazing devices on its aim to move forward in this new but highly competed segment.
The first one is the Samsung Galaxy Tab 7.7, which arrived at IFA with some sort of controversy after Samsung decided to pull it out and take down the advertisement, allegedly due to some patent dispute with Apple. Samsung Galaxy Tab 7.7 featured an astonishing 7 inches Super AMOLED plus screen.
The Galaxy’s display is literally catching all the eyes, but what is really impressive about this device are his dimensions. Is indeed an incredible achievement packing such good technology in such a small and slim case. +Continue Reading
Every day more and more new applications are arriving to the already well populated cell-phones’ world. Nowadays is easy to find applications to do almost any imaginable thing (Even some unimaginable things) and numbers seem to keep growing. As competence brings quality and satisfied customers this is a very well appreciated trend. But what happens when the cell-phone you have is not that smart? What if this ever increasing amount of applications always finishes with the warning “application not supported” message? I felt somewhat frustrated when that happened to me, in fact, I felt frustrated when that kept happening about 9 out of 10 times I tried to install something.
My telephone is java-enabled is not very smart. Well, I had decided to deal with the idea of not installing big apps but some simple needs just came up. I needed to have some information displayed at my phone. +Continue Reading
In today’s Internet world, some users cannot believe spots exist where the Internet actually disappears, but it does happen. With the high cost of mobile broadband and cell phone data packages, it makes fiscal sense to tolerate “dead air.” However, those depending on the Internet for scheduling and constant updates balk at this, knowing that constant synchronization between databases online and local storage keeps tasks together.
This was a big problem, but now Google has solved it with Gmail Offline, the latest installation package in the Google Chrome browser. Outlook claims to have the same capabilities but, in fact, is very limited. Files archive ONLY if you select them, and sometimes the email you need most isn’t the one you had the foresight to save. Also, calendar entries could only be made system wide by an administrating Outlook account. Documents work with the old cut and paste. Anyone claiming Outlook has achieved what Gmail Offline has, obviously doesn’t use either. +Continue Reading
