Samsung will release the first 3D phone: W960

Samsung W960 3D PhoneThis whole 3D madness started from Avatar, which was the first movie to have a 3D version released. Not long time after, televisions took the idea and introduced first 3D TV devices(Samsung, LG, Sony, Panasonic).

Cellphones could not miss this and this year Samsung will release the first 3D phone, called W960.

The 3D phone will have an 3.2-inch AMOLED capacitive touch screen(16 M colors) with WQVGA resolution and will be featuring multitasking and TouchWiz 2.0 user interface. Other features: 3.2 megapixel camera with autofocus, 3G, DMB-TV-tuner, Bluetooth 2.1 and microSD card slot.

Supported applications: Electronic Dictionary, Calendar, Currency Converter, Notes, Calculator, Alarm Clock, World Clock, Stopwatch, Subway Maps.

The special 3D feature will not need 3D glasses to be seen in action, but to activate it you need to switch on the dedicated 3D shortcut key.

Samsung W960 3D display phone is expected to hit stores from Korea within Q2 of 2010, but an estimated price has not been yet revealed.

Steve Jobs and Apple hate Adobe Flash too much

Apple vs FlashHave you ever wonder why Apple CEO, Steve Jobs hates Flash(Adobe) so much? We haven’t done this till now, but we think is something strange between two big names.

All started in 2007 when Apple launched iPhone mobile device and same time with him, the iPhone OS. From the beginning they refuse to comment about any Flash support or things related to it, but few years after it seems they couldn’t resist and say directly: we do not allow Flash on iPhones, iPods and iPads.

Apple made a clever move in 2008 with iTunes, which became the unique place to download official apps for Apple gadgets. Unofficial Apple blocked any third-party software from running unless you hack(“jailbreak“) your iPhone that could destroy your warranty or even ruin the device. Could Nokia N8 mean something this year?

Nokia N8Till now, 2010 it’s a harsh year for finish producer Nokia, who seem to be outclass by Apple, HTC, Motorola or even Microsoft. Why do we say that? A touchscreen model was needed like a fresh breath for Nokia, but the bad news is that will be released Q3, 2010.

The display has a 3.5-inches size and is an OLED capacitive based one with 640 x 360 pixels resolution. Along 16M colors the screen have orientation sensor, compass, proximity sensor and ambient light detector. Under the display we have a menu key while above, the earpiece.

On the right side of the phone we find volume buttons, Lock and Camera keys while on the left are the microSD and microUSB port.

As Nokia stated during the announcement people can create compelling content, connect to their favorite social networks and enjoy on-demand Web TV programs and Ovi Store apps on this big screen.

The special thing is at the back, a 12 megapixel camera with autofocus, digital zooming and xenon flash. Videos can be recorder in HD quality(16:9 and 720p resolution) @25 fps in H.264, MPEG-4 format. +Continue Reading
